Fun on the Farm
During Jim and Vangie’s visit, we went up to the family farm for dinner one evening. We got to visit with some of the people in David’s family, and enjoy a great fish dinner. After dinner, David’s Uncle Larry, and Aunt Dawn, took Hannah around the farm to see the animals. Henry got to stay back at the house with Grandma Vangie. This was our first time at the farm when Hannah was really old enough to appreciate and/or enjoy the animals. She was really excited to go, and aside from being terrified of the horse, (“Horse too tall.” “Too big.”), she had a great time. She loved the kitty, and kept telling Grandpa Shinn’s dog Duke (“Doot” no eat rocks.) (He likes to chew on rocks.)
After getting off of the horse, and spending some time watching them eat apples, we headed over towards the pastures to visit the cows. Hannah wasted no time! She was SUPER excited to see the cows, and when they would run away as a herd, she just kept following after them, as fast as her little legs would go. We walked all over just following those cows. When we finally came to a pasture where they had stopped, Hannah really enjoyed getting close to them, and had fun just watching them. It was a beautiful night, and the scenery was pretty as well.
We finished up the night with a trip to the barn. Hannah really wanted to see it, but was a little unsure when she got inside. She said, “Too dark. Turn light on?” We really appreciated Larry and Dawn taking Hannah around the farm. She had a great time. She kept calling it the “E-I Farm” and asks about it all the time.
