For the fourth of July, we went to our senior pastor’s house for a bbq and fireworks.

Before the fireworks started, Hannah had fun playing in the backyard. She did LOTS of bubbles, played soccer (she’s actually getting pretty good at kicking!) and basketball. David and I also taught her how to throw a frisbee. She’s actually pretty good…(better than her Daddy.) (I love you David.)

After the bbq, it was time for dessert, and as you can see, our daughter really enjoyed the cupcakes! She ate hers in true toddler-style, frosting first.

This was Henry’s first fourth of July. He was typical Henry…just very mellow and happy. He actually slept through much of the evening.

Fireworks were fun this year, as it was the first time we’ve let Hannah stay up. I think David and I had more fun watching her react and enjoy the fireworks, more than we enjoyed the actual fireworks. She was a little bit scared right at first, but soon, she would say, “more fudderworks” after each one. She sat on her Papa’s lap, and seemed to really enjoy the show. She woke up talking about “fudderworks” the next morning. “Hannah see’d it. Fudderworks. All done now.” Our son, through some kind of miracle, slept through the entire show! We had him out in the driveway with us and everything. He didn’t even flinch.

We had a great fourth of July, and were really proud of how well our kids handled all of the excitement.
